NZ,
Haven't installed it yet, but it'll go behind my 440-6. I figure no more than 450 HP. From what I've been hearing, it'll hold up. I think Chryco's run enough 833's to know for sure.
What I got was an absolutely perfect shifter, original, not the new Hurst, mounted to a 23 spline 833 in good shape, all linkage etc. included. An aluminum bellhousing, steel flywheel, bearing fork, z-bar, pivot ball for the frame & bellhousing, clutch rod for the fork, pedal assembly, overcenter spring, rod that goes thru the firewall, pristine 4-speed hump.
What I needed to buy: Clutch disk, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing ( all the stuff you should buy new anyway ), shift boot, reinforcement bracket for the firewall ( $35 from Brewers ). I also bought a 4-speed console, but that's optional (unless you find one for $100 like I did )
Everything was clean and rust free, painted, primered or whatever was the right thing to do.
Can you tell I'm happy with the deal ?
Cheers,
P.G.
