Glass codes
« on: February 19, 2010 - 07:43:52 PM »
I used to know how to decode them.  I know it is real simple.  Will someone refresh my memory of how to do it?  Thanks,
Tod

The sales codes like G11, G15, etc?

Or the actual glass etching?

I just bought some dated coded stuff from ECS
This was for a 70 challenger built 9/1969

Windshield has  AS1  for laminated glass
 Rear glass       AS2  for tempered
The next number is for the date of manufacture  eg  99 = sept 1969    69 = april 1969     123= dec 1973
The M44 is for tinted on my windshield  and M56 for tint on the rear glass

My computer died. I had to wipe it clean and reload it.  Sorry for the delay.  Thanks for the responses.  Barry I need to decode the codes on 20 door glasses that I have.  I am planning a move from my home and am not going to move all this stuff.  I also have quarter glass and rear glass to decode. I am looking to decode the etching.  Thanks.

Anyone have any idea of how to decode these etchings?  I would like to get this glass to people who need it instead of it just sitting in storage bins.  Thanks.

I asked Roger Gibson and he cleared up how to do it.

The date code is on the second row up from the bottom last numbers.  Bottom row should be a DOT#.  The dates read;  109 October 69),  31  March 71, ect.
