What car are these seats out of?
« on: March 11, 2010 - 12:19:17 PM »
I thought these were E-body seats but now I have no idea.  Anyone?

Crap I just figured it out,  they're from a 71 Dart GT.   Do these share any characheristics with ebody seats or should I get rid of them?  Thanks

so the frame will be the same but the covers & foam is different so they can be recovered & made to work

You will need spacers in order to get the rails even or do A-bodies also have the same uneven seat rails that the E-bodies have?

They will work in an ebody. Depending on the seat cover for the ebody you may or may not have to replace the foam. I would ask legendary that question. and yes the tracks are definitely different, but you can always sell the abody tracks and buy ebody tracks for about the same price i believe.

Thanks guys,  more hassle than it's worth.  I'm just going to sell them to an A-body guy.

Have I got a story here! I totally missed this thread. Not sure how, but I did. And here I am a guy with 2 '71 Dodge Dart GT's. Worse than that, I'm a guy that owns a '71 Dart GT that's missing its front seats. The bronze dart was stripped before I got it, and you know one of the first things to go was those nice black bucket seats.   :walkaway:

But somehow I managed to find the ad on Craigslist!  :woohoo:

As soon as I saw them I sent an email and scheduled the pick up, gotta have them. I didn't even know I was going to meet another C-C member at the time. But after a quick drive in the Challenger (ok, maybe 2 hours isn't quick) I picked up my new-to-me Dart GT bucket seats. Now, I know that all the GT's had either white or black seats, but they still only made around 1255 pairs of these suckers, so finding a set of original GT seats, in the original color, is pretty darn cool.

Thanks Jake!  :2thumbs:

Look familiar? Heck the new ones are even in better shape than the originals in the butterscotch '71.
