The problem with using a truck Dana 60 rear is they do not have the mount for a pinion snubber. Also if you are going to run a keisler you can get away with lower gear ratios. When I get around to installing a keisler in my Challenger I am going to go with 4.56 gears, that will give me an 3000 rpm at 80 mph with 275 60 15 tires according to their website.

But 72, if you're using 4.56 gears that will equate to 4.93 gears or if you have the 550hp TK0-500 it would be a whopping 5.62!!! Not sure on your combo but it sounds extremely overkill to me. 1st gear will basically become a waste and 2nd not far behind. Even with 3.23 (equates to 3.49) I'll be doing 65mph at 2,100rpm. What engine will you be running?

I get all my rear stuff from Cass (Dr. Diff). He's in Montana or N Dakota as I recall, and can build anythign including his own rear disc brake assemblies. Great guy.

I will be running roughly a 500 hp small block. When I was running the stock 2.76 gears and 225 60 14, I was pulling around 3000-3200 at 80mph, so I want to stick to that, and street light to street light will be lots of fun :burnout:

Carl,  I agree with moper, I would talk to Dr Diff before ordering anything elsewhere.  I look at his stuff every year at the Mopar Nationals and his housings are machined for a pinion snubber and the disk brake setups use common parts that can be replaced from an auto parts store. He knows his Mopar stuff.

For 72 Hemi - yes you are correct about the lack of a snubber mount on the truck Dana. But I am going to adapt the snubber to be mounted on the body and hit the diff not the other way around. The other thing I was going to look into was to provide a trailing link setup that runs beside the driveshaft from tranny tailhousing to the diff. I once had a 1984 Z28 that was fairly modified and taken to sell in New Zealand. It had that trailing setup and the front always came up even (IE no twist) off the line and absolutely no wheelspin  ::) I know everyone may say because it was a Chebby. But the point is the newer cars are weaker so that system must have some merits - look at a new 6.1 RT - takes off pretty good and no wheelspin and they have no junk hanging off the rear suspension. How do they do it?

Thanks mate, that is what I intend to do. I will definitely be upgrading to disc brakes on all fours.
Probably go with Wilword or similar. The drums vs 528ci Hemi wouldn't be fun to drive.

I'll probably give him a call once I know where I'm at with what I intend to do with the car.

Thanks,
Carl

Carl's question was from 3 years and he did get a dana shipped from Cass a little later.
