'ya know, it's funny...IIRC, the Auto console was an option and an  upgrade from the base Manula shift car on the floor...Yet, today, I can't help but love that 'ol Pistol Grip shifter with the Base manual shift car...The manul shift cars are more popular now, than the Higher optioned Auto console cars of yesterday..

Manual gearboxes have always been considered to be a performance option and now that every car is basically standard with an auto people like the thought of changing gears themselves.   :burnout:
