Cleco's , Which size, 1/8 or 3/16?
« on: March 30, 2010 - 02:22:42 PM »
I have been looking at different ways to hang body panels before making any permanent attachments. Looking into this, the Cleco's seem to be a good way to go and an inexpensive tool to add to my collection. :)

They come in two main sizes (1/8 or 3/16), which size would users of Cleco's recommend?

or

Does it matter?

Just in case certain applications call for different sizes, below is what I need to do.

1. Inner Fenders
2. Truck Floor
3. Driver's Floor pan
4. 4 Speed Hump, replace the Automatic Hump
5. Possibly a door skin...

Thanks in advance.

1/8 allows you to use a bit more meaty drill bit otherwise doesn't matter.

I use 1/8, but it doesn't matter.

I have no preference but when you order some, check out " aircraft-tool,com ".  They had incredible prices, less than half price from most everyone else. And they are cleco brand as well.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Are there any advantages to using Clecos vs. using sheet metal screws to hold panels in place for welding?

Thanks!

Convenience really. Quicker to pop a panel on and off and easier to do by yourself.
