Chrysler Museum - All things Hemi
« on: April 12, 2010 - 12:31:04 PM »
The boy and I had some time off over Easter week, so we went to the Walter P Chrysler Museum.  It didn't have all the many muscle cars since it was more about the history of Chrysler, from start to present day.  Anyways, they had some contest back in 05 where people put Hemis in what ever they could.  Sort of interesting, check out the pics.

Were those all in the basement?  I was there last year, and there were a number of muscle cars on the lower level, maybe 20 or 25.  They had a little oval track set up with a few inside, and the rest were outside of it.

Yes, it was in the basement and the track was still there but most of the cars were older, like the Hudson Hornet.  I'll post some more pics.

Of course I would not be a good Chrysler fan if I didn't mention the Turbine Car.  Everybodies favorite.  Also, check out that leather in that.....Cordoba

That's right.  I think it was part of a private collection they had in while I was there.  That would explain the other cars I remember.  It was pretty cool to see the place, though.

I was there about 6 or 7 years ago, got to talk with a few of the volunteers as I was the only one around. They change the cars on a regular basis, the very top was empty and only a few cars on the main level, a history of Chrysler in cars, couple of original no mileage cars, a green Hemi road runner I think, they allowed me to take some interior shots. The basement was a treat as they had many early NASCAR cars and a couple of last year cars as well.
Could have spent all day there but my wife had been dropped at the Mall in town and she doesn't know when to stop spending, had to go and rescue my credit card from being over worked.   :stirpot:
