which oil to choose ?

Hello
I am French and I live in France and the problem is that here we cannot buy American oil. the prices for sending to summit or another seller are very expensive.

I can possibly buy in Germany only 2 American oils,
- amsoil z rod 10w30 synthetic with 1400 zddp
- lucas oil classic and hot rod mineral 10w30 with 2100 zddp

what would you think is the best between these 2 oils? for my barracuda 440 with camshaft lunati woodoo 703 flat tappet.

Either oil will work, I prefer the Lucas product but thats just preference. The more zinc the better for your cam since it is a flat tappet type.

thanks for the answer, but I had read in a forum that exceeding 1800ppm zddp was dangerous for a street engine.
What do you think  ?

I would say that whoever said that didn't know what they were talking about.

Lucas (or any manufacturer) would not risk the liability of selling a product that could potentially damage engines. Even if they have a waiver on the bottle, people would not buy it or use it.

Buy what you can or want but neither of those products is going to hurt your engine.

Yep, what the man said! Having said that, I'd look at whatever French trucks use and seriously consider one of those. Shell is an international producer and Rotella T used to be an old favourite. Just check the zinc levels or buy and use a specific zinc additive. If memory serves, I believe a SJ rating was what you were looking for, but don't quote me on that.
