This is my suggestion, seeing how close you are.
What is the biggie time-wise?...What would it cost to just hire that done?
What are your weekend/off day mornings like?...Set the alarm clock & get up a couple of hours ahead of the rest of the family on off days & tinker....Do that a while & see how far it gets you.

You most definately have to keep that. The day is going to come when things slow down for you and you're gonna wish you had that project. Just remember how long Bullitt and bentpushrods hung on and glad they did. It's like learning from someone else's experience.

:iagree:  with bullit ... If you store the car @ home, that`s the way to go... half hour here, hour and a half there... it makes all the difference... ( at least for me it does...)
Dude, thats a waaaay cool car you`ve got there.  the money it brings will be gone in no time, and then the car is gone too...  :walkaway:

I just got back talking with Angie over at M.E.W. She remembers you.

She said..."Don't you dare sell it Johnathan!"

That is cool that Angie still remembers.  I would imagine they remember most of thier builds.
Right now my schedule pretty much consisists of leaving at 7am and getting back home between 6 and 6:30pm from work.  I just started doing a quick workout before I leave and in the evening.  (trying to shed some pounds)  The rest of my evening is spent with the two kids, one almost 3 and the other aboutn 9 months old.  To complicate things, the 9 month is CP and I hate having my wife deal with both kids when I could be available.  The weekends are usually spent working around the house, taking the kids out for some fun, visiting family or running errands.  Evrey once in a while I get some time.  Maybe a couple hours to spend on something else and I do try to get on the project.  Thing that irks me is that it takes me about 30 minutes to get into it, then I don't want to stop till I am too tired, but I have to.  Just irriating.
I could hire some one to do the work, but that wasn't my intension with this build.  I wanted to to pretty much everything myself, except build the motor.  The motor was a little above my ability and confidence.
I hear what you guys are saying and I am starting to accept keeping the project.  Just seems like selling would be a little weight off my shoulders.  :dunno:

A 3yr and a 9 month old will occupy all your time......for now, as they should. But if you can manage to hold on to it, I think you will be glad you did later on. It is SO close to being done! Keep it if you can. :2cents:

Well I hope you keep the car but in the end only you can answer the question. I cannot tell you how many times I got frustrated and wanted to quit on my T/A. I'd just give it a rest and when rejuvenated would start again. I only had 1 child at the time and she was 6 years old. I went to the garage after she went to bed so I didn't rob her of the time. Just saying if the will is still there you will find the way.   :2cents:

Don't get down.  Mine is still sitting in the same spot 18yrs later.  I understand how a family can put things on hold.  I've watched my family grow, go to college and then move on.  Now that my wife and I are empty nester, I thought I would have time and funds to work on the car.  Think again.  My son came back home.  Now he's back in school full time for art.  He as a degree in Public Relations from Temple U.  Now he wants to find himself.  Now he uses my SUV because someone totaled his car and min. coverage.  He can't drive his mom's car because it's a stick and it's a red sports car.  Also, my wife wants to travel abroad.  So every morning I look at my toy just sitting there and wonder when is it my turn.  What keeps me going are folks.  so don't give up your dream.  I still dream that I will see my wife in a tubetop and a mini skirt sitting beside me in my ragtop r/t chally and I know that I will never see her in a tubetop and mini skirt again.  Not in this lifetime. So keep yor dream it's free.

Dude that car is bad ass!! I wouldnt sell it unless you really need the $$. Trust me I know first hand having to concider selling my car as we just had twins. I have come to the conclusion that the car will still be there when I have time for it plus it will make a nice hobby my kids will hopefully enjoy. Hang in there! :2thumbs:
