there are a number of variables here ...... firstly any alum heads absorbs more heat & needs 1 more point of compression to compensate .Secondly my real world experience with the Eddy RPM heads was 2 HP gained going from well ported iron heads to ported RPMs .
SO what year & approx compression is your current 440?
if you are in the 8.5 range now & lose another point to the heat loss , you will effectively have a 7.5:1 compression engine & the K58 will be helping to bleed off soem cyinder pressure too , I doubt you will be impressed
so what do you have & what is the end result you hope for ?

compression is about 10.2:1   .......i am lookin for a good solid bolt on head that'll get me to the lower 12's ..... at some time i am goin to build my stroker so at this point i am not worried about gettin the most out of this motor...jus a good solid pump gas runner

With a stroker a few more questions arise , assuming around 512 CI & 6000 RPM max powerband you are on the fence for Max port size heads , stock port heads would limit the upper powerband probably down to 5500 range while the max heads will trim off some low end power which can be a good thing with the massive torque the strokers make . Again I would be leaning more towards a Indy EZ head pkg over the cheaper 440 Source or Eddy offerings looking forward to a stroker build , BTW stay away from the Eddy Victor heads . I assume you will be running headers & some after market intake & carb ?
If you want to go cheap I would look at the 440 Stealth head over the Eddy , they cost less & offer similar if not better performance IMO , the Stealth will need new 10* locks & retainers installed & a check over before installing

my stroker will be a 543 with 12.5 compression.... but the motor i am lookin for heads for is jus a motor to hot rod A bit till i get enough cash to build the stroker right (indy heads like you suggest)....so you think that the stealths are my best bet? are they a true bolt on other than a good check and the 10* locks? i will be runnin headers, and 850 holley on top of a tm7 intake i bought from stroker a while back

Are 10* retainers a must?  Why do they come with 7* retainers?  If you have low spring pressure won't the 7* be enough?  Or does it have to do with lift?

the reason  people are switchin to the 10deg retainers :the chinese 7degree retainers are junk even on a stock type set up . the best way to correct that problem is to move up to the 10 deg lock and retainers for security + it dosnt break the bank.

If it's a place holder engine, the Stealths are a decent head for the money. No head is ready to bolt on IMO, so plan to have them gone thru by a competent shop. IMO, you could do a job on your heads now, or stick a set of Aerohead crap on them and be out less coinage and then you're closer to the stroker.  None of the cheaper heads are enough for a 543.
