340/383 swap question

I would stick with the 340 as they can be made to embarrass any fraud and chevy.      
If you want a BB you may as well go all the way and get the 440 as all mod's will produce more power, possibly cheaper in the long run compared with the 383. The 383 is a good performing motor but any mod's to the suspension & trans for the 383 will have to be done for the 440.
