"Troy trade",getting another XX29 Dodge; 69 Charger 500
« on: April 17, 2010 - 11:59:38 AM »
Well,, looks like perseverance has finally paid me a visit. As many of you know, I've always wanted an aero example of both Dodges, a C500 and a Daytona. Well, as you have followed over the years, my '68 Hemi Charger R/T and Dana, my '69 C500, turned themselves into a Daytona, like the caterpillar to the butterfly. I've had my 2nd '70 v-code Charger for many years now in the hopes of one day making her look like my 1st '70 v-code Charger R/T, White Lightning.

Well, in the spirit of not being able to have them all, I will be trading my '70 six pack Charger R/T for a '69 Charger 500. I will have two XX29's in the garage !!!!! It is a Y2 440 auto with the A32 Super High Performance 4.10 Dana, just like my Daytona. It has black interior with a black stripe, granted the stripe on it now is a Daytona version. Right now, my plans are to get her home. The owner and I haven't figured out the transportation of the cars yet, but that'll come with time. This has pretty much transpired/developed in the last few days. I have a special place because of Dana and the future new owner of the '70 has a special place in his life for the '70 as well. So,,, both parties are happy and pleased with the situation. And, that's all that matters. The cars will both be getting good homes.. :2thumbs:

I'll probably convert the car to a 4-speed since I enjoyed Dana so much and after all, it was going in that direction already. I'll make a future decision on the color of the car and wheels, but the magnums on the car now will probably stay. The Daytona stuff is staying with the current owner. He has a good front clip to go on the car, so no worries there...

Here's the '70 the day I got it.. That was a good day...

It is here and I'm a happy camper... It needs work, so did the '70. The Charger 500 is better in certain areas and my '70 is better in certain areas... All-and-all, we're both, me thus far since I have it here, happy. We haven't found transportation yet for Pete, but the broker's working on it.....

Here's the car when it arrived:

On terra-firma Hawkes' Nest property....

Series of pictures of the C500 next to 'Tona.

Julie's getting a kick out of it.. Ryan, the lil' guy Kim watches is wondering what's going on..

Can you tell I'm happy... Kim was messing with me commenting on waiting on the driveway to see the truck coming.

Interior's pretty decent. Won't take much to make into a nice driver, other than floors..  :smilielol:

Tucked away into the Charger's Nest....

Thanks Pete... Now, we just need to get your six pack there.......
