Hood Bumpers - Rear
«
on:

Does anyone have a picture of where the three hood bumpers go on the cowl? I have three to install, 2 are 1/2 inch long and the other is 3/4 inch.
73 challenger.
Thanks;

the short ones go in the rear hood corners the longer one in the center , there are small holes in the hood frame to accept them

Here is some from a 73 Cuda I think they are the same. Those are the factory installed ones.

Lucky to have farmboy70 around. You can always count on him posting pics when needed

Thanks guys, I think I have them in the right place. A little grease sure helped the install.

:wave:those factory installed bumpers on farmboys pics sure looks longer than 1/2" .ive tried the 1/2" lengths bumpers and they dont reach down to the cowl on my -70 cuda,its far from reaching down.ive bought bumpers from 2 different vendors and both supplied the 1/2" bumpers.im feeling that it cant be right,so do anyone have the meassurement of the rear outside hood bumpers from an original car?the rear middle bumper would be interessting to,maybe others have this problem too??

I have my old ones in a storage box somewhere. I was going to put new ones on, but maybe i better see if they are different first. Waitning for my new ones to come, then i will compare.

They are to prevent the hood from hitting the cowl, it does not mean they have to touch the cowl.

:wave:aha,well my hood doesnt hit the cowl so that is good.but looking at farmboys pics the outer bumpers on a cuda sure looks longer than 1/2" so maybe ive got the wrong bumpers in both my kits.the center is 3/4" and the outers 1/2".on farmboys pic it looks like the center could be 3/4" and the outers even longer.
?it would be nice to have the right parts

His is a 73, it has longer bumpers. The short ones were used in 1970 for sure.
