Part identification

Can someone please tell me what the black cylinder thing is, beside the distributer. Should the bracket be clear zinc?

Can't see it. Maybe you are pointing to the condensor? That would be on a silver cad bracket (might be phosphate) that attaches to the coil bracket. A better pic would help, but that is a tough place to shoot anything. My guess is based upon where I see your fingertip.

Are you talking about the Giant Coil in the middle of the picture? My brackets are usually silver.  :bigshades:

Sorry, I wasn't pointing at anything in the photo. The large black cylinder thing in the middle of the photo, right beside my hand. What is it?

Should have a large cable going to the center post of the distributor cap- this is the ignition coil. Should be black, with a silver bracket (natural metal).
