Aftermarket door latch?
« on: May 01, 2010 - 09:19:48 PM »
As the title says, I am looking for aftermarket door latch assemblies. I have them on my doors, but they are seriously screwed up so I am thinking I might need fresh ones. Anyone know of any place that makes/sells them?

I assume you mean the latch at the rear of the door that keeps the door closed ,  I am not aware of an aftermarket unit but may be able to get you used ones

I mean the whole assembly that fits inside the door and "latches" to keep it closed. The one on my driver side might be ok, but the one on the passenger side doesn't work for crap.

The latch is rarely the problem, they can be cleaned & lubed & will usually work, the striker & or door out of adjustment is more common & sometimes the linkage from the handles get jacked up & need adjustments.
If you do need to replace the mechanism there are plenty of good used esp. passenger side.

Yep, usually taking it out and soaking in mineral spirits works great.
If I cant fix it, it's broke
