Anyone here have any experience with the Comp XE275HL "Mopar" cam?
I keep reading in magizines how its suppose to be the best overall street cam for the Dodge RB engines. Modern lobe design and made for our lifters.
Would this cam fit in a 1970 440 engine? Would there be enough valve clearance to run the .525 lift ? (stock heads & pistons).
I left the 509 cam springs in the heads so they should be able to handle the lift.
I would get the cam custom ground on a 112 LSA for the power brakes, so that shouldn't be a issue.
But is the cam really that good
? I know the XE274 was worth like 40HP over a six-pack cam and the HL is suppose to make an additional +12Hp on top of that.
(Based on the articles: stock to modified 440 & 440 Update)
So really, do you think the cam would be worth almost +50HP or are they just over rating it ??
Thanks.... John
