Restoring a factory AC setup
« on: October 03, 2004 - 09:28:53 AM »
Does anyone know where you can get parts to restore the factory AC box? It looks like the factory units used quite a few seals, felts, and gaskets. I could probably just use some time of weather stripping from Home Depot for the AC doors and black RTV to make a gasket. Does anyone know if you can still get the vacuum pots?

Also, has anyone converted a factory system over to 134a and if so, have the various components help up to the higher head pressure?

Thanks.

Hey guys,
I checked with SMS to see if they would sell me the parts to restor the A/C box and they said, No. That's the bad news, the good news is that there restroation service seems to use new parts for the box, so the parts are being made by someone or are available.
