This reminds me of a questioned that was asked in Hemming's Muscle Machines about a year and a half ago.

The poster had bought one of the original SRT8 Challengers purely as an investment to sell later. He said the only mileage on it were to drive it from the dealer to his home. The car market was tanking at this point and he wanted to know what he could do to store the car for several years until the market goes up again.

The thing is, even if the market for cars goes up again, there is no telling if this model will be one of the ones that skyrockets in price. This guy truly rolled the dice on this venture.

I totally agree...........I have no intention on keeping a low mileage car for someone to enjoy in 20 years. I paid for it and I intend to enjoy it.

I know of another guy out here that has a First Edition SRT-8 and never drives it.  He probably doesn't have 500 miles on the car to date...if that.  :dunno:  I don't use mine as a daily driver, but I do get it out to exercise it and have some weekend fun.  I'm hoping it will have value in the future, but I realize their are no guarentees.  It's still nice to own a car from the first run...especially since we found it on a used car lot and didn't pay the initial high prices!  :faint:  Remember when people were buying em and putting them on eBay for $60K-$70K right off the bat?  I'm sure some people made some bad investments at that point  :scared:

I have a buddy who has an 08 numbered SRT and it just sets covered in his garage. I think is has around 1K miles on it. I know his wife drove it this spring a couple of times and when he found out he was a little mad. We don't use ours an a daily driver either but we do cruise it when the weather is nice.

I just don't get the idea of paying all that money for a new car just to look at it.   :screwy:

If you don't want to drive it in winter and such, that is one thing...But to never drive it?    :dunno:
