As odd as it sounds, I was wondering if it is possible to machine or "turn" the rotors on these model years. I have a complete set and would like to replace the front drums on my car, but the rotors need resurfacing. I know most places resurface the rotors by bolting them down on a bench, but can this be done with a rotor/hub assembly such as the factory setup?
For some reason new rotors for the 70-72 style are crazy expensive at around $160 each here at a local parts store. The 73 and up are about 1/3 of that price.
My dilemma is this, once I refresh the braking system with new calipers, rotors and hoses, I will have spent roughly $500. For $675 I can get a full wilwood set.
Any input helps!
