reassembly blowermotor
« on: May 20, 2010 - 05:37:51 PM »
my a/c blowermotor came in pieces with my car.  don`t know what the reason for disassembly was so I figured I`d put it back together and try it.
When I put the internals in the housing and torque down the bolts ,it`s dead stuck and when I loosen them it turns over fine.  looks like there is something missing between the 2 halfs of the housing ( maybe 1/8 thick?) The piece that bolts to the heaterbox won`t get locked up between both halfs.
the shopmanual doesn`t show an exploded view... someone??

Dutch-
I could not find an exploded view of the A/C blower, sorry. :(
I did find a three-part how-to rebuild the A/C system:

Restore Your Mopar's A/C System, Part I
http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/techarticles/34460_mopar_ac_system_restore/index.html

The Second Step In Restoring Our A/C System Is To Tackle The Plenum Box

Restoring The Heart Of Your A/C System—The Compressor
http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/techarticles/34597_mopar_ac_system_restore_iii/index.html

BTW- Why do you need an A/C in Holland? :dunno: :poopoke:

Maybe someone eklse has the diagram?

Ron

thanks Ron, but I`m not rebuilding my a/c system. I would have if more parts would have come with the car but all that was left was the heaterbox.  plus I like to cruize windows down hearing that 440...  :ylsuper:
no need for a/c here either :misbehaving:

Dutch-
Just trying to help.
I can't wait till you are finsihed with the rebuild.
I (evreyone here) is/are impressed with your abilities and the detail in the Cuda.
If the Air Force sends me back to Geilenkirchen Germany, I hope for an invite to see your car (and son's scooter) in person.  First beer is on me.

thanks Ron,  I love to drink a few with ya sometime  :drunk:

got it figured out with the blowermotor... there were a bunch of shims staked on the axle and there were just too many on there.  Might be the reason the motor had been taken apart too..?  runs nice and smooth now.
I renewed the wires and it`s ready to go.  :cooldancing:
