Mod man six pack and shaker
« on: January 19, 2015 - 10:31:04 AM »
I'm probably reaching here but:
Car is 70 vert Barracuda with 528 wedge and Tremec.
Has anyone used the Indy Mod Man intake with a six pack set-up?  Additionally has any one used a Mod Man with a shaker?
I had a motor built for me, (builder disappeared-long story) he used a large Indy dual-plane.  I want to replace my rallye hood 4 barrel with a 6bbl shaker.  Upon pulling intake it seems that I am near max wedge sized porting.  I know going six pack route will likely cost me some HP but the standard 6bbl intake seems it will really choke down on airflow.  I already have the shaker hood and six pack.  The shaker is a must and would consider keeping the big Indy intake but I don't think it will fit the shaker.
Any thoughts much appreciated,
Thankyou

The intake height is pretty much the key here.  I dont beleive you will have clearance to run a stock shaker.  I had to make my own shaker base after switching to just a e brock perf intake on top of a 440.  It wasnt hard for me to do on my app by just using good gauge flat aluminum, a plasma cutter and a grinder.  Even then though it only lowered the shaker just enough to close the hood (and I was also able to use the rubber seal, and it seals better now than it did before)

72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

Six packs look cool, but seems a lot of folks struggle with keeping them dialed in right.
