440 no spark to the distributor
« on: June 12, 2010 - 04:09:24 PM »
Hello all, I have a freshly built 440 that I have just installed. Installed the MSD 6 6200,blaster2 coil, MSD wires as per the instructions with the 440 source distributor its the street distributor version purchased a year or so ago. When I pulled the distributor out of the box the box the cap was cracked probably happen while it was being stored so I ordered http://store.440source.com/Replacement-Distributor-Cap-New/productinfo/117-1009/

Now I did the spark check MSD calls for and passes great big good sparks coming from the coil wire  , connected it to the cap and get nothing form the plugs "pulled #1 and grounded to check " Went thorough the timing 3 or 4 times so I know its right bug points to #1 post at T.D.C on the compression stroke. It doesn't even try to fire :pullinghair:.
Any ideas O GREAT MOPAR GODS :worshippy

MMMMM   If your getting good spark from the coil, about the only thing left is the rotor button... Is it in there & getting good contact at the center?

Looks to be contact I can see where its hitting the top of the bug , is there a way to check to be sure?
May be the wrong cap , I will have to look and see if i have the old cap and compare the two.
EDIT: Just found the old one it the exact same cap except its red and not blue

Typically you can see a dark dot right where the button rides on the center contact.
