Radiator choices?
« on: June 23, 2010 - 10:17:35 AM »
Now that I have some horse power, I want to keep the new motor cool. I'm going over 220 degrees in this hot weather if I'm in traffic / city driving.
I spoke to Smith Radiator, they seem like great people. They have a radiator (26'' like my original one) that will drop in and I can use my factory fan & shroud.
Will a good radiator by itself take care of this?

How about some of the coolants that claim to lower water temps?

most of the additives work better with straioght water & arer less effective with anti freeze
you can use the Evans coolant that uses no water at all
basically it eliminates the gas layer between the hot metal & the coolant allowing better heat transfer to the coolant
