Dash Question
« on: October 31, 2004 - 03:20:30 PM »
I have a 71 Chally with a A/C dash that has cracks in the dash pad. It does not have A/C in the car and never did but the previous owner had put a A/C dash in it. My question is do I need to find a non A/C dash (metal frame) or can the new dash pad just go over the extra vents in the frame. Also, I cannot find a pic of a Chally with no A/C. Is the two vents in the middle of the dash the only extra's or are the vents on the far right also for A/C? Thanks

thats a 70 dash, I think    if im not mistaken the Challenger embosed in the pad was a 70 only thing  the 71-74 has a plastic plate emblem stuck to it.

I was just using those as a comparison. I think that was the only differance in the dashes was the emblem, but the dash pads are basicly the same. I need to know if I can use a non A/C pad over a  A/C dash.

Yes, you can. Any dash pad will work with your dash frame.
