I took the guages out and used the black housing for a pattern to cut a flat sheet of 1/8 inch thich aluminmum out that matched front of the housing.  Then laid out where I was going to put the gauges and cut holes in the aluminmum.   I then laid it on top of the plastic and cut out the plastic orginal housing so the guauges would fit in it.  It really butchered up.  But I glued the aluminmum to the plastic and painted it a semi black gloss.  Also painted the other dash panels to make sure it all matched.  I'll get a picture and post it.  I don't have any pics as I put it together.
