    Not sure if this is old news, but since I keep seeing bits & pieces of the Cuda & Challenger bodies being made, I went to the Dynacorn website & spotted this in the Q & A section......



    This is dated June of this year, so maybe it's a lot further along than ever.  :cheers:

    Thanks for the link. Judging by their Challenger catalog they are pretty close to having all of the pieces ready to produce a complete body. When it will be made available still up in the air, and the cuda body is to follow the Challenger body. I will talk with them at SEMA this year and see what I can find out. Dynacorn did recently release a repop 70 Challenger grille (complete minus headlight bezels). The biggest problem though is how do you register the new body, because taking the VIN off a rusty shell and placing it on this new body is a felony, no matter how you spin it.

    I suppose one of the oldest & most heated debates is regarding VIN tags & restorations. Swapping tags between two older cars is not something I'd ever do, but if the state DMV allows the new Dynacorn body as a "legal repair panel" then I would seriously consider it. I also have no problem at all with a state issued VIN tag & would be 100% content owning & driving a car that has one.

    A friend of mine finished a Cobra kit car recently & the tag on it is actually a 1965 or 1966 Mustang tag. The DMV here in NY issued it to him when he was there in person at the office & never blinked an eye about it. The other odd part is that the Mustang wasn't a ragtop & the Cobra is.  :dunno:

    Most (maybe all?) states have a way to title 'kit cars', so check with your local DMV / BMV.

    I reported that the new Cuda shells were going to be produced two or three years ago on this board and was told by more than one member of this board that I was crazy and didn't know what I was talking about. Frankly, I was treated quite rudely.
    Those guilty can apologize to me personally by p.m..  ;D

    I am crazy about 71 cudas though. I bought another 71 last week. It's an N96, sassy grass green (now orange) front and rear spoiler, 4-speed car.

    Titling and registration is not that big of a deal as most states use a model that SEMA help create to help the automotive illiterate understand how these get registered. While there are unique situations from state to state, in general, these are registered as a kit car with the requirements for safety, lighting, etc matching the year the kit most closely resembles, ie 1970.

    I need to keep this one. I bought it from a friend of mine who's been drag racing it for over 30 years. This car will be raced in Pro/No Electronics.
    I also have a tor-red 71 Cuda that's going to be a street radial drag car.
    My 71 Sassy Grass green Barracuda will be for sale soon though.
