1970 Cuda Spring Relocation Kit, question about tire sizes

Hello all,

I am in the middle of restoring my 1970 Plymouth Cuda and while all the metal work was being done I had a mopar performance spring relocation kit added so it moved my springs in 3 inches. My question is what size tire are people able to run after doing this? I know the limiting factor now is the inner wheel well as I did not mini tub it.

I know with no spring relocation you can fit 275's but I'm hoping for much wider then this now that the springs are moved in.

And I would measure myself but I dont have the car back yet from the body shop

I used the 1" offset kit from Dr Diff and can fit 295-65s in the stock wheel wells.

Depends on the car (because the assembly tolerances are all over the place on these cars), how low (as in how much of the tire you want up in the wheel well) you want it, and if you are willing to fold or cut the fender lips. On mine I can fit a 305 45 17 (almost 28" tall) with a rolled fender lip, but the tire will hit the inside of the wheel house both inner and outer sides if it's too low or you hit a really big bump. Goody has 295 18's on his and I think they clear everything. If you go with a lower profile tire, you can fit more width because the tire is shorter.

The other variable which will affect the max tire size is wheel offset.  Ideally you would buy the tires and wheels you want (knowing there is room) and narrow the diff. to get them located properly.  If you don't want to narrow the diff then wheel size/width and offset would have to be known to get accurate recommendations.

Thanks for the info everybody.

I figure the best bet would be to get the car back from the body shop, take my time making sure I measure everything correctly. Like they always say, measure twice and order the rims once lol
