Well, I've been here a few years but I think it is time to let my car go.  I simply have too little time and too many toys as it is.  Up for sale is my 1974 Dodge Challenger. I have had this car since I was 16 and can no longer justify having this toy unfortunately. I have over well over $25K invested in this car. As I have a mechanical background, just about every nut, bolt, and wire in this car is new or rebuilt by myself. Literally the only thing left is body and paint, which is in extremely good shape given the age. It has very minor rot in the trunk and a very small (8") rusted floor board area under the driver floor. Ironically, the rest of the floor pan is solid. Body work is not my field, so I have put it off for last since I cannot do it.

The engine is a 408 stroker internally balanced small block with Edelbrock 800cfm carb, Carter HV pump, regulator, 3/8" pickup, Edelbrock RPM heads, MLS head gaskets, RPM camshaft, roller rockers, and Air Gap intake. It has braided AN fuel lines and oil cooler lines. I used ARP main and head studs with a steel crank, I-beam rods, and hypereutectic pistons. A Fluidampr is used along with a SFI flexplate. It also has a HV oil pump with hardened driveshaft, 8 qt. aluminum oil pan, dual remote filters, and an external oil cooler with braided lines. It has ceramic coated headers and an MSD distributor and coil. A large aluminum radiator and HHR cooling fan are used for cooling, and the exhaust is a dual H-pipe setup with a LC-1 wideband oxygen sensor. Locking rubber motor mounts and billet March pulley and brackets are used.

I have a trunk mounted battery with a 240 amp alternator, gear reduction starter, and a custom installed Painless wiring harness with an add on relay block for all high current draw accessories. There are numerous left over relays and fuses underhood for EFI if desired.... I added keyless entry, power locks, power windows, and power trunk release. It has leftover circuits for much more. The interior has new carpet and a new dash pad with custom Autometer Ultralight gauges throughout. I lined the majority of the interior with Dynamat Xtreme and also installed courtesy lighting, glove box, trunk, and hood lighting. The headlights have relays and H4 bulb housings. The wiring, like everything else, was personally done by me. All connections are soldered and weathertight heat shrinked. Most all switches are new. A 35 pin Ampseal connector is used for a nice and modern bulkhead connector. Interior wise, all that is left is a new headliner and recovering the seats. The other panels are all new or restored. All lock cylinders are new throughout too with spare keys and fobs.

Rounding out the drivetrain is a built up Torqueflite transmission with a 3500 stall PTC converter, added clutches, Kevlar bands, billet servos, a deep aluminum oil pan, external B&M cooler, Lokar kickdown kit, and a CRT valvebody. A custom driveshaft with 1350 U-joints is used. I also have a bolt in driveshaft loop for it. The rear end is a 8 3/4 unit with a billet yoke, 3.91 gears, Powertrax locker, and Moser forged axles. All brake and fuel lines and parking brake cables are new prebent units. The master cylinder, calipers, pads, rotors, wheel bearings, drums, shoes, adjusters, and wheel cylinders are new. Basically, the entire brake system (which is manual). I rebuilt the steering column and replaced a tie rod. The rest is all tight and ok. The rear leaf springs, all shocks, and the shackle bushings are new. It has an adjustable threaded style pinion snubber. I also rebuilt the wiper motor and replaced the battery this summer. There are 108K miles on the body, and only 3K miles on this build. I have some mildly roasted 275/60R15 BFG Radial T/A's mounted on new Rallye rims on the back. The front wheels are stock 1974 14" Rallyes with good tires.

This car starts and runs fine, I often daily drive it to and from work. It'll get about 14MPG and likely better with some carb tuning along with keeping the speed down. The car does have a vibration that gets worse with very high speeds due to the back tires that have done a few burnouts, but I have and would not hesistate to take this car on a decent road trip while keeping the speeds reasonable. It has very good street manners even with the converter, gears, and cam work. Mechanically, this car is excellent and needs no work. I have all instructions and owners manuals for the parts installed along with wiring diagrams that I made as I went through it. I also have a whole book with all of the receipts to show everything that has gone into this beast. I have a ton of new parts that will also come with it too. I love this car, but I simply do not have the time or the money to finish it up in the near future. I'll answer any questions via PM only initially, and I will entertain any realistic offers.
