A/C in a 440?
« on: July 27, 2010 - 06:09:52 PM »
Has anyone been able to install A/C in a 70 challenger 440-6. The body was originally from a 318 with air, it came with what looks like everything I need except the compressor. According to my manual, A/c was not available on the 440-6 and it is pretty useless as far as pictures, etc goes anyway. Can I use the stock crank pulley, belts, brackets, etc? Any recommendations? Heat Index has been over 100 here this weekend - A/C would be soo nice right now.

I would think your best option is to hit the bone yard and get all the pulleys and brackets off of a 440 with a/c. I'm not sure if the set up you have now is adaptable . Let us know how it works out as I have the same dilemma, but nowhere near that far on my build. :smokin:
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Pretty sure it's a no go with factory brackets....Bouchillon Performance has a couple of options.
