Recommendations for Challenger Door Panels?
« on: July 29, 2010 - 02:51:29 PM »
Hello,

My '72 Challenger door panels are badly cracked an in need of replacement.  Does anyone have good experience with any aftermarket suppliers?  Who would you recommend I look at?

Metro Parts just started making the cuda door panels, which are suppose to be pretty awesome. Supposedly they will have complete interiors available for cudas and challengers by the end of the year but time will tell.

That's a big time bummer that there aren't good reproductions out there.

Does anyone have good (or bad) experience with this one?

I bought a set of Palco's years back. I threw them in the trash after a year. Bad grain. Felt like hard plastic.  The fit $ucked...I had to booger them in there.

I got a set of nice originals on E-Bay. Yeah, we don't have many options, do we?   :pullinghair:

I'm sure glad I asked you guys first about repros before trying them!

My interior is all black.

I think I can salvage my driver side door panel-- the paint is bubbling and chipping, but the passenger side looks a bit more daunting to repair.  It has a gash near the door handle that is starting to expand on me.

It sounds like a good used one is the way to go.

Thanks

If you did want to get a set of aftermarket ones, pm me. We are a legendary interior dealer so I can get you a good price on them. I'll have to look for pictures of the ones we put in our 71 Challenger RT but they were not too bad. Once I find the pics I'll post them up and you can decide for yourself what you think of them.
