I'm told perfect condition except that the bolt hole where the starter goes is cracked.

Hey, TC. Found it on eBay. Have not bought it yet, but I may go check it out this weekend. Basically, I'm trying to figure out if I can flip it and make some money. Generally not my style, but my economics being what they are I have to look for opportunities.

They get a lot of resume nowadays (again, economy being what it is) but most of them are people who are completely unqualified but submit a resume because all it takes is a mouse-click. He may have said that to try to faze you, so don't let it do that. Go in with confidence. Good luck.

If you're looking to buy this to flip it, I wouldn't do that.  For one thing, how many times is an Ebag item actually as described, unless you can physically look at it, and what happens if you get it sonic tested, and there is a crack.  Even if everything does check out good, then you now have to spend your time and money getting it home and re-listed, all in the hopes of making probably less than $100, if you're lucky.

I can check it out pretty easily. My thought is that I could easily get more than he asking for it, maybe as much as double, but OTOH I agree with you about the condition it might be in. I'm concerned that he didn't tell me about the crack at the starter until I called. I even more concerned that, when I asked him if it had been sonic-checked, he said "What's that?"

In that case I'd walk away.  To get top dollar, you'd have to get it sonic tested.  There's always a reason why things seem too cheap.

Yeah, I'm thinking you're right. Aside from the fact that it would need to be checked, this guy tells me that he has a number of cars, that he's built motors for more than half of them...but he doesn't know what sonic-checking is? I'm just not believing it  :grinno:

My freind who is out on disability makes decent extra money buying intakes and other car parts off Craigs list locally and reselling them on e-bay.I would consider doing that as you can go there and see the parts and make a cash offer-less chance of getting burned.Don`t just stick with Mopar as Chevy and Ford parts sell pretty good also.  :2thumbs:

Don't forget that the serious buyers usually watch these things and bid just as auction ends, besides if he has built many motors he should know what it is really worth, be careful.
