1970 cuda / challenger seats
« on: August 16, 2010 - 09:22:32 PM »
Are all 1970 style ebody seats the same? I have seats that came out of a 1970 cuda. Will the 1970 challenger seat covers fit? The distance where the rods run vertical on the seat back seem to be closer together than that of the cuda covers. Is the foam the same?

Thanks,

Robert

The foam is different. YOu can buy Challenger foam and install it on the cuda frames as they are the same.

Since you are converting, you may need to make new listing rods too. Steel coat hangers can work, but hardware stores sell the thick wire for suspended ceilings, it is stiffer.

Are you talking about the rods on the seat back or the rods that go in the seat cover? What do I need to change about them? Thanks!!!!

The listing rods slip ito the seat covers were the deep pleats are. I would need sets of both styles here to compare lengths & so on to be able to answer your question. It should be self evident when you get the new covers & remove the old ones.
