trans mount issues
« on: August 02, 2010 - 01:19:57 PM »

Working on replacing my trans mount...but seem to have a problem.

The mount on the left is the mount that I pulled off the car and the one on the right is the replacement from Rock Auto.

As you can see there is a difference between the two..the one on the car was on there when I bought the car and has obviously been modified.

Is the one on the left the correct part???

Thanks,

Jason

The one on the right looks like the one from my car....

but I suspect you gussed they woul have sent you the right one when you seen your "modified" original.

With that being said, I don't have much more to offer  :sadwavey:

More modding to be done to your new?
Maybe someone else will have a better idea?
Is your trans. not origianl to the car?

Yeah, I hoped they would have sent me the right one.

No the trans is not origional to the car..its a 727 out of an 80 new yorker...but I understand that the trans are all the same.

Looks like the same thing in my car, try putting it in, your old one is pretty deteriorated and looks way different in the rubber area.  But the metal besides a bit of cutting looks similar.

Remember when you install it that those slotted holes are there for tolerance stack-up.  Keep those bolts loose.  Install the cross member and the through bolt, then tighten thse bolts going up to the trans.

Thanks guys.

I sorted out an engine mount issue and the trans mount fit.
