72+ washer bottle ?
« on: August 16, 2010 - 10:19:43 AM »
Ok, this is going to be a stupid couple questions but I thought I'd ask so I only have to do this once.

First of all, I got a new bottle over the weekend.  I put the electric pump on last night and want to make sure I got it on correctly.  There was a plastic washer on the pump inlet that I assume was supposed to be installed inside the bottle so that the filter/nut has something to tightened down against correct?

Second, the ground for the pump is crimped onto one of the slotted bottle mounting holes from the factory.  How do I get that crimped eyelet onto the new bottle withough cracking it?
Should I drill out the bottom of the slotted mounting hole big enough for the eyelet to pass through?  Then I could slide the eyelet up the slot to its correct location.   :dunno:

YEs the plastic washer goes under the nut that holds the pump in .
sounds like a good solution for the rivet to me

The bottle is on the car.  I drilled the slotted mounting hole so the ground connector would pass through it.  It worked good.  Once the charcole canister is installed you won't be able to see that mounting screw anyway so it will be hidden.  The new bottle cover doesn't have "washer fluid only" molded into it like the origonal so I'm going to see if the origonal one will clean up nice and use it.
