Looking at a 67 Barracuda to buy
« on: November 05, 2004 - 08:55:13 AM »
I found a 67 Barracuda with S badging on the fenders, nice body and a decent interior for an untouched car, still has the original 273, 4bbl auto with console and air, and all the original pieces are still there and in good shape, a little rust behind the rear wheels and verry slight bubbeling under the vinal top around the rear window. anyone know what this car is worth? I didnt know they made a 67 barracuda S, thought that started in 68.

they started in 65 with the S          273 4bbl 65-67   340's in 68-69   383 in 67-69 and 440's in 69               depending on the condition and if the formula s parts are there  air cleaner, valve covers, carb and intake  Id say in the 2-5k range          4speed or auto ?

The biggest engine Ma Mopar ever put in the Formula S was the 383. In the 69 Cuda line they also installed the 440.  As far as the 67 that you're looking at buying, the most sought after parts are the grilles, fenders, taillights, and trunk trim. It would have a lot going for it if those are in excellent shape. Maybe $2000-$2500 without seeing it it's hard to tell. Maybe more if it has an 8 3/4, 727, uncut dash bezel, headrests(rare), am/fm, woodgrain wheel, etc. The notchbacks are really cool looking at not as common as the fastback. It definitely sounds like a keeper if it's a running 1 owner. Good luck. Jim
