well i had the whole engine back together...& what do ya know, my new water pump LEAKS!!!! :stomp: :swear: :swear:

I will attach some pics also.. but the problem ive figured is the bolt just behind the mechanical fuel pump.. the down pipe off the water pump hits & in turn will not let that lower corner seal to the timing cover...

any feedback is appreciated..

i tryed notching the neck a little more were the bolt was hitting, but still not enough clearance... & i don't want to take to much material out of the neck...

I am surrently fighting with edelbrock on this matter.. they tell me they've never heard of this problem.. so i am submitting them these and other pictures for there review...

we'll see if anything happens i guess..

once again any feedback is appreciated during this frustrating time

looks kinda like the washer is too thick.  Maybe the wrong bolt? Just suggestions, can't really tell.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I have had constant problems with Eddys QC , they are predominantly  Chevy company & don`t seem to care , |I tried to return a 1407 carb that was missing an entire will for the fuel bowl internally , they treated me like I caused the problem & never looked after it

well as 72cudamaan was saying.. i had come to the same conclusion..

so i pulled the bolt & yes that was a big washer!!

i tryed finding a flanged hex head 3/8-16 x 3 to cut down on how far the head came out, but no one had any!!

oh..also i have notched more out of the down pipe..

I ended up just getting a new standard bolt and normal washer..brought it all home & rigged it up to check clearnce..

wel it clears now but just barely..so i ground down the head of the bolt a little & i am going to work to borrow the grinder to take another small layer off the downpipe just for added insurance..

i will post pics when its it... then she can run!!!!!
