I think I F'd up my sure grip

Hey guys, I posted this over on DC.com and figured I would hedge my bets a little and post it here as well

I just got through swapping my open rear for a known good 3.23 sure grip pumpkin,  after I pulled the axles out I went inside to do some more research and find that I was using the open 8 3/4 directions. After reading ahead I find the "sure grip axles" section and start reading that, well as it turns out it says in big bold letters "DO NOT rotate an axle shaft while the other is out"
Guess what, I did
It says if you do "it will necessitate a difficult realignment procedures when shaft is installed. I didn't have any trouble re-installing the axles and they seem to rotate smoothly..........

Am I screwed here, if so, what is the logical way to proceed with getting this figured out??
Anybody know the "difficult procedure"??

Thanks for any help you can give, I appreciate it

Sounds like you are lucky, what usually can happen is the centre splines can go out of alignment and the axle won't go in properly.   :working:

so will your axles slide back in ?, if not you have to engage the axles as far as it will go & rotate the axle with a pry bar until the splines line back up

Seems like I am in good shape then, the axles slid in with no trouble and rotate properly. Thanks for the replies  :2thumbs:
