340 3 speed manual question

How do i prove the car is oringal 3 speed manual if i dont have fender tag or build sheet. Is there anyway ?

also is there anyway to find out which number of the 151 that were made our is ?  :horse:

The only other way I am aware of is by the partial VIn on the transmission itself.

Some of the original structural unibody members will have a partial VIN stamped on them: the tail panel and the radiator support, are a couple. If those haven't been replaced you can get the VIN sequence # from them.

no one kept track of the sequence # of cars built so ther is no way to know which one yours would be other than the date of the build

I keep track of the actual build sequence actually (for 1970 Hamtramck cars) but I need a broadcast sheet to do it.

There is no way to know the actual build date on it.

Wild gues is that IF you can find a car with a similar sequence #, you might be able to get a round about scheduled build date at least.  There's another member on this site with a car with the same build date as mine (8/17/71) but our sequence numbers were off by something like 140.
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.
