iNTP, I just replaced the lopey cam in my 70 340 with the Mopar factory original resto. got it

 from Year One it is a 268/276  44 O-lap, 114 centerline, lift is 0.429 / 0.444 the part

 #4452782. Year One Part #FD1214

Now my car runs the way the factory intended it to, very strong & idles perfect with the

original Carter AVS. Better mpg too. :wavingflag:

Mopar performance purple cam part No. P4452782 comes with lifters and cam lube, can be purchased where ever Purple cams are sold, Bob Mazzolini, Mancini etc.

Wouldnt you be better off going with a Voodoo cam that is close to the same spec as the orig?  I know that the tech advances with the years since the orig stuff came out has got to be better then orig spec stuff.

Thanks a lot folks!

I heard a good things about pre-71 340, I thought I would rebuid my 69 to stock see how it perform. But...

I did some research, it seems to me that alot 340er recommend Comp cam XE268 rather than MP Purple P4452782(stock-replcaement cam).

The XE268:
268-280 duration
224-230 @50
.477-.480 lift

MP P4452782:
268-278
228-235 @50
.429-.444

I have non-experience with choosing Cam. So if anyone here knew/or have tried both of those Cam above, please make a decision for me, which Cam is right?

I don`t have my catalog handy but I would look into the .904 series Lunati cams , you can get less or similar duration but with more lift

Now you are opening a can of worms if you go away from standard which is what you originally asked for, there are some great cams for the 340 and most will liven the motor up for very little variation from stock. If you only use slightly higher lift and mildly more duration you will get away without having to change anything else for good results.   :burnout:
