    8 3/4" 489 Center for sale--SOLD SOLD SOLD

    I have a good used 8 3/4" center...489 case....3:23 gears and a good Sure Grip. Slight noise under load--most likey backlash setup. Gears look good and SG is good. Located in Long Island, NY. Would rather not ship. $350 neg.  It's worth more than that in parts. Call Mike 516-903-1665

    I'm interested in the 489. I really wanted 3.55 0r 3.91  but could always change that.
    I run a good working 2.76 now and want another complete pumpkin I can have to change out.
     The deal is I'm in north Texas and I know you stated you didn't really want to ship, however, depending on price plus ship maybe we could work something out.  I figured it didn't hurt to check

    Sorry it took so long to back to you..I was away for the weekend. I can call UPS and see what it would cost to box (or pallet maybe??) or see how they would need to ship it. I'm guessing it weighs at least 75lbs or more.

    I bought one 2-years ago.  It cost about $65 dollars to ship it.  The guy I bought it from shipped in a five gallon bucket. Heavy side down.  Wrapped it and duck taped it I believe.  Made it easy for the UPS guys to handle it.  And arrived in perfect condition. ;D

    Yes a five gallon plastic bucket.  You cannot fit the lid on.  Like a said a little bit of cardboard in the bottom of the bucket.  And a layer over the top.  Covered with duct tape to insure it does not come out.  Heavy side down, fits right in the bucket.  He said he had sold and shipped several that way and never had a problem.  Mine arrived fine and the shipping was easy and right price. :)

    Guess I will check with the local UPS to be sure and then go buy a bucket.
