:clueless: If they did make a Charger with 2 doors....would the new Challenger even come to life?  It's on the same platform...would be very similar except for the nose/tailpanel...  :dunno:

That's just it look at all the parts powertrain that were interchangable, brakes they were very alike from A,B.C,E,F bodies with slow improvements along the way they were lean and mean Thats why you can pull a hemi from a charger and stick it in in cuda. You can't easily put a 6.1 in a neon or a sundance. Mopar rules and has all the answers in thier past. I do agree the Coronet would have been the better name or Satellite. It does look good and it gives the smokies a real cool looking cop car.

Look at it this way, if they stuck with the 2 doors there probably would never have been a production model.  They have to go with what the majority of the public wants.

Understand your point but disagree in a large part because of the new Mustang acceptance and popularity (even a few Mopar guys bought them), two doors didn't hurt their sales, the Carmaro is still in the "toddler" stage to evaluate it's popularity, but you don't see any 4 door models do you? Sorry, Chrysler screwed up there as far as I'm concerned. Beleive me if they had made a two door model my wife wouldn't be driving a 300 today.  It may be a nice car but Chrysler was just using a rock star name to sell their 4 door box.   :2cents:

Hey but on a good note They HAVE Produced the challenger and it is one fine looking car, that should do well in sales even though it is a bit pricey with any hemi option. I will probably buy one off a lot within a decade used and start fixing it up.

those are some good pictures, and obviously a major refresh, but still a disappointment.
But who know, maybe 30 years from now collectors will be snapping them up.
I have no problem whatsoever with 4 doors and calling it a Charger. Dodge can do whatever they want, since its their name, and it sure sounds better than coronet. People want 4 doors. I was just think something a little more intrepid looking. Wasnt the greatest car, but it was easier on the eyes. Remember Iacoca and cab forward? At the time they looked good.
If I do get a charger this next year, the wife would love the 6.4 with a $7,000 aftermarket supercharger on it. Would cook a stock SRT for a lot less money.
Dodge isnt the only manufacturer that has designed killer concepts, and then went out and produced something for the public that made you question what the heck they were thinking!?

I like that taillight too. 164 led's in a "racetrack" figure.
It is a major refresh, and does look better.
Anyone have any experience with the superchargers on the 5.7L?
Especially interested to know if it would play well with the new AWD and disconnect system to be offered.
