Fuel Line Routing
« on: September 21, 2010 - 06:47:48 PM »
I am trying to connect up the hose from my fuel tank sending unit (3/8 supply, 1/4 return) on my 74 Challenger with California Emissions Package and need some help on the routing.  How does the 1/4 return on the sending unit connect to the vapour recovery unit (one with the 5 outlets located next to the tank)?

Does your '74 use the same vapor separator in this '73 (pictured) mounted on the shock member?
If so there are 4-corresponding nipples on the tank & the line to the engine bay goes to the 5th on top.

the later cars never had the 3/8 sender , the 1/4" return on the sender was originally connected to the the vapor seperator on the pressure side of the fuel line between the pump & carb

Unless your connecting it to the charcoal canister & that to the carburetor vacuum no.
Otherwise it makes a simple vent for the gas tank.
