Chrome water neck for Mopar Performance 340 intake?
« on: September 25, 2010 - 08:33:54 AM »
Having a tough time finding straight chrome water neck for my car. Its a 340 with Mopar Performance intake. Spacing is odd, needs to be 3" center to center. Most out there are wider spacing, 3.25.

Is that 3" bolt spacing used on newer V8 Mopars or ????

the smaller thermo was used on later engines & seals better than the wider old thermo , I have only seen the steel water necks though

I have heard of the cheap chrome plated oil pans leaking but not the tstat housings. Geez - the base of most of them is 1/4 to 5/16" thick steel. They are some beefy-ass units.

But they leak?

Any chrome thermostat cover needs the chrome removed from the gasket face to ensure that it will seal properly, had too many leak or come in leaking. The stainlees steel ones sound good.   :2thumbs:
