Anyone familiar with PG classic Restoration
« on: September 21, 2010 - 12:00:51 AM »
I am looking for some of the parts they supply and was wondering if anyone had experience with their stuff. ie fit quality, ect. They seem to have very fair prices. Seat covers especially. I also need exhaust tips and some other stuff. Please comment.

Shipped straight from China. I have heard complaints about a lot of their stuff, but mostly the seat covers & chrome stuff like mirrors pitting right away.

 :iagree:
The luggage rack mounting kit I got has already started to rust on the steel/ chrome feet. The potmetal ends seem to be holding up ok but showing a little discoloration.

It was only a c note, so I wasn't expecting perfection

I have a flip top gas cap from them. So far so good.
I'm pretty sure it's all the same stuff as B/E&A?

it really depends on what your looking for. BEA and PG are partners. seat covers i have no info on. the lenses and other trim parts should be OK. Since they are not liscensed by chrysler none of there parts will have any pentanmarks or even numbers.

I can't speak about their current seat covers but the ones I bought a few years ago for a 72 RR were terrible.  Nowhere near ass good as Legendary

I've bought a couple of thousand dollars worth of parts over the years from them.  As mentioned previously BEA sells the same parts.  They are a member on this board I think we should support our own whenever possible.  I just became aware of PG first.  Bought chrome mirrors, luggage rack, lenses for rallye dash, convertible parts and other items that no one else was offering at the time.  Now more people are offering these parts because they realize there is money to be made selling them.  The quality has gone up since then but at the time most of these parts were not obtainable for less than a grand.  I want my car to look nice but I'm no concourse freak.  I want a nice driver and they offered something I wanted in the ball park of what I was willing to pay after some long serious thoughts on do I want to spend that much.

I give them credit for being among the first to offer these items.  Some batches are good and some were not.  If you bought from legendary when they first opened you'd find they had some quality issues initially but over time they've established themselves as a quality company with a quality product.   So if your looking at PG I'd say buy from a member at BEA.  I've observed he works hard to stand by the products he sales, does what it takes to resolve issues and try to make sure that both parties in the deal do right by each other.  Although I'm satisfied with my dealings with PG I have observed they are not as customer focused and I've read some disturbing experiences from some of their customers.  Again I've been satisfied with my dealings with PG but any future parts I'd buy would probably go to BEA based mainly on my observations on boards how they handle customer service issues.

PG Classic and BE&A are basically partners. BE&A determines what to produce and specs them out where PG is the manufacturer. In general, the BE&A parts are licensed and will have the part numbers but PG's aren't. A lot of times this makes up for the price discrepancy. I don't have any of their parts for my Challengers yet but I do have plenty for my 68 Chargers. Mike Ross from BE&A is an E body guy so you'd think the stuff he uses on his own cars would be the best quality he can make.

I've bought a few parts from PG in the past with mostly good results. The only thing that I was not satisfied with was some arm rest pads that I bought. They were no where near correct in grain or fit. Other than that I've been pretty happy and will buy from them again.

I've purchased quite a few trim pieces and parts from PG including lenses, bezels, stainless trim, and handles. I have no complaints with those items. I purchased all my interior seat covers from legendary.
