    Ok, I need a little help here.  We've been looking for headliner bows for a little while and just ran across someone stating that the SE headliner was a "one piece felt covered hard board to accomodate the SE overhead consolette".  Now the reason I was buying a new headliner and bows was because my car came with a HARD BOARD WITH UGLY FELT COVERING THE DANG THING!! Is this really true?  Do SE's not have real headliners??  Holy cow!

    True , you do not need bows , the headliner was a hard board formed to the roof , & covered with a very short felt from the factory

      Holy Cow! is right. Trying to find a good complete 3 piece SE headliner (the mainboard and the two sail panel boards) is like looking for original Gator Grain material :P ;) If ya's decide to go back to the original style for your RT/SE imo your best bet is going to an Arts and Crafts supply store for some similar thickness pegboard, slightly dampening it, then placing some object(s) on top to recreate the slight bow on each piece
      Not one of Ma Mopar's better ideas but i'm thinking they needed more than just regular headliner material to support the overhead console and the board worked.

    It's a good thing I can laugh at myself. ;D  There will be a heck of a sale at the end of this build!! Actually, I haven't bought the bows yet...passed (sniped) on ebay 3 times. Only bought the clips, since I didn't have those either...I wonder why ::) ::)  And a brand new 5 bow headliner....

    TFN, I have the 3 pieces in absolutely perfect condition...just covered in ugly felt.  Since we're not going back totally original, we'll cover the board and the consolette in leather material to match the seats.  I just can't do the felt.

    I still haven't stopped shaking my head and kicking myself.  What a hoot!

      Sounds like an excellent material upgrade for the headliner boards. Maybe someday soon i might have the ol' grease slapper to a point where it can make a road trip to see what that looks like... ::) Your's and Chris' workmanship has been very nice so far so i can only guess that the headliner will turn out similarly.  8)

    If you have the form,  You can get the right material from legendary, I think.    I remember taking special note of it.

    Had one person tell me you can only get it out (the form)  intact by removing the windshield ?  Just what I heard.

    Thanks for the heads up on that Robb.  Our windshield is still out...will get the board back in before we put the windshield back.  Thanks.
