    Here are some results from my 520 stroker build.

    1970 440 block
    30 over KB pistons, 4.35” bore 4.375” stroke, Moly rings
    4340 crank and rods.
    Indy EZ heads with valve guides cleaned up, no porting (yet)
    Erson hydraulic cam, 504/504 (with 1.6 ratio) 278/235 @ .50 installed @ 111.5
    Compression @ 10.0-1
    PRW aluminum roller rockers
    Crane lifters
    Eddy RPM performer intake
    Proform 950 carb
    TTI 2” headers
    3” X-pipe all the way back with straight through DT mufflers

    727/UPDATE 2400-2600 TCI stall with 3.55’/8.75 and 275/60/15 Daytona Dayton SR’s out back.
    On Mustang Dyno, 400 RWHP @ 5000rpm and 444 RWTQ @ 3800rpm.  Avg was 349hp/413tq.  Not too bad for a street car, 71 Challenger.

    I wonder how that same build would work out with stealth heads and a 512 stroker kit but otherwise the same stuff? I bet I would be in real trouble on the street!!

    Sounds like fun. Also I dont really have much experience with strokers or big blocks as I've only built up my 340 and havent finished building my 383, but is this pretty typical horsepower for that many cubic inches and those indy heads? I'm just wondering because my 340 was bored .040 over and had edelbrock heads with stock stroke and made 345 rwhp. Again just curious if these are pretty typical numbers for this type of setup?

    I had some Interceptor radial 60's on it, 275/60/15's.  I could be doing 40 mph, mash it and go sideways.  It was crazy how hard those tires were.  I almost wanted to keep them on there for fun, but they were old and absolutely no hooking.  I put the Daytona's (I already had them) on it and it was like night and day, they hook pretty good.

    What was your RPM at peak horse power?  What was your torque?  Not sure how typical it is, I am sure there is plenty power left out there.  The cam is pretty small and the heads have the potential to flow way more with some port work.  With the torque kicking in so early, instant power right from the get go.  :burnout:

    I was talking with a few guys (chevy) and they were amazed that my motor was only able to put out 400 at the wheels.  They think that I should easily be putting out around 450 at the wheels, not questions asked.  Is there something that I should be looking at?  I think that I am leaving a lot on the table with the heads not having any work done and the cam being so small.  Any thoughts?  Thanks!

    I use flat tappet solid cams around .580 lift , duration will control the powerband RPM , I feel the cam is mild for what you are trying ot do .
     Mustangs are hard to get a high # on 400 RWHP on a Mustang is decent
