What a Crazy Day!!
« on: October 02, 2010 - 10:34:58 PM »
It has been one crazy day today! :screwy:We got 8 plus inches of rain during the week with this costal storm, but Saturday turned out to be fantatic. Sunny and about 70 degrees. My kind of weather. So I rolled the Challenger out of the garage & headed out to a car show I usually go to every year. It's in a small town where they close off the streets, have crafters/vendors and a very nice car show albeit put on by a Mustang club, but an awesome group of car enthusiasts (not snobs like some of these clubs)! So I meet out there with some of my Mopar club amigoes and we had a great day. I took a 1st place for the Challenger :woo:and then later head home. I had a couple newer mustangs blow by me so I decide to nail it.....BAM the throttle cable breaks. It's a Lokar setup. I roll to a stop and the ball on the end of the cable came off at the gas pedal. I clip a very small pair of vice grips on it till I can get it home. Amazing what you can fix with vice grips! Then the starter decides it wants to take a dump, so I had to call a tow truck (AAA). An 1 1/2 hour wait!! :swear:The prez of the mustang club and another mustang pulls over and we talk cars till the tow truck arrives. Great guys!! When I finally get home I go to push the Challenger into the back yard and get attacked by yellow jackets AGAIN. I killed a nest in the spring!! :22yikes:They were all in my hair and about 50 of them clung to my pants and shirt. I ran to the garage and screamed like a woman!! :roflsmiley:They stung my hands and the top of my thinning hair fat head! I have NEVER had a bee sting hurt so bad, The hand was fine, but my head feels like it was hit with a hammer! I think I need a massage and a flame thrower!! I HATE bees!! :stomp:So how was your day?? :smilielol:

Well, woke up and went to work for a couple of hours and then went to a small car show. The day started out nice with sunshine and a little cool. Then a couple hours later it clouded up and here came the rain  :swear: Did win a trophy though  :woo: On the plus side, i didn't get stung by bees  :poopoke: :smilielol:

I can't stand Meat Bees!!  :swear:
Been stung myself many a time on the river..for no reason. Very aggresive acting.

Glad to hear you got your car home safe. Run a pipe from your exhaust right into their nest...if you can.

Jeez Matt,

I'm just glad you aren't allergic to the yellow jackets. They can be nasty, but I guess you found that out already.    :grinyes:

The funny part was I left two vehicles running in the back yard. My neighbors got a show and I am sure wondered why a grown man was running a 10 second hundred yard dash all the while screaming like a woman!! My screaming was probably as good or better than Fred Figglehorn!! :roflsmiley: :smilielol: :roflsmiley:

Back in the day before face shields I caught one of those little suckers inside my helmet while I was riding on a freeway.  The impact didn't kill him, just pi--sed him off, so he started stinging!
It is amazing how fast a person can whoa down a motorcycle, put it on its stand, pull off gloves, undo helmet and stomp a wasp to death!  The problem was that the half dozen or so stings on my head hurt like heck, caused my eyes to swell partly closed and start to tear up.  It made the couple of hundred miles home a really unpleasant ride, and it started hailing too.

Went on an overnight camping trip with some buddies yesterday and about two hours after setting up camp, we were having a hatchet throwing contest when all of a sudden out comes a swarm of small forest type bees from the stump we were throwing at. One of the guys got stung on both hands and another on his left hand.

I was the official "bee smasher" since they seemed to only want them.... :smilielol:

Well speaking of bee stinging stories my brother years ago worked at the local county highway department. Well as we all know when your in the country and when nature calls we do what we gotta do right? Here he is working out there along a road and has that certain i gotta go poop and my only choise is the woods over there, and as he taking care of business little did he know that he was over top a bees nest in the ground. And i think you guys know where things go from there  And he said he had to go to the hospital as the pain was unbareable and he was asked that embarrasing question of how he got stung there  :roflsmiley: He healed just fine but his pride never did  :smilielol:

Sorry to hear...

My bee story is no where as bad as the others, long short is we had a nest building in the doorway over work, when the door would slam shut they would get mad, well when it happened you where already in or gone so we didn't know, that is till the morning I bring my car to the door 'cause I had to unload heat treat from the trunk for work. Open the door, slams behind me like always, just to quickly re-open after grabbing the dolly right inside the door. My wife likes my hair longer... guess what the bees then dive bombing me did... get stuck in that dang long hair  :pullinghair:  the shop next door, I don't know how they didn't die from laughter.

But yes, getting stung on the head SUCKS!!

It's ok to scream like a woman. I cry like one. Quite often, actually.
