Very cool. Brad.  I took Shelby to homecoming in the Chally. All these kids were getting dropped of in limos. And everyone was "Shelby how do you get driven in a car like that ? " She said "It's my mom's . "  Then I did a little  leaving. And she said all the kids said " Nobody's Mom would have ever lite em up in front of the school , except yours. "

  Very cool brad,it goes to show you to this day and many,many years to come our beloved mopars will always be a favorite with the young crowd,heck not with just the young crowd,all ages............. 
my buddies always give me crap saying the time i get my 71 chally done my son will have his drivers license and the car will be his,he's 7 yrs old now.

i remember my dad letting me take the car to the school car show right after getting it out of the resto shop. I was 16 and had my license for about 3 months. By far the coolest dad move around on that day.

Ya I agree, Everyone seems to love our old Mopars young and old! I agree it's nice to see the younger ones with "that look " in there eyes when they see our cars!
I have 3 boys, 10-12-14
My oldest has a love for the 78-81 trans-ams but he does like the Challenger too.
The middle one is nuts for 69 Mustangs
But the youngest in a real Mopar man! He loves the Challenger, anytime I take it out he always wants to come! He is just NUTS for a 68-69 Charger! His room is plastered with pictures of them! Even the new one too. Anytime we go by one he says CHARGER! just we all did with VW's ( punch buggies)
They all seem to "strut" ( proud)when they are in it and people give us the thumbs up or whatever.
It's both funny and annoying when all 3 get to fighting about what car is better! They almost get into fist fights over it!
Hey at least it's over American iron and none of them like the ricer cars!
They actually laugh at them when we pass one?

I took it to the next level with my son when he was a senior.  During the last week of school I tossed him the keys and told him to take it to school himself for the day.

He said the kids and teachers were going nuts talking about the old green car in the parking lot.  He got a big kick out of telling them he was the one that drove it to school.  By third period it appeared the word spread and everyone knew it was his. 

Of course at lunch time I had to drive by the school lot just to make sure my baby was safe and sound.  LOL  He parked it in the back row and had two friends park on each side of him.

He came right home after school and said dad you should have seen this wicked $ss sideways burnout I did with the car today.  You might need new tires.... As my jaw dropped to the ground he tossed me the keys and said I'm only kidding.  Thanks for making me king today.

My senior year of high school all us guys decided we were going to wear tuxedo t-shirts to prom and we told the girls about it and they said yea go for it. so a week before prom all the girls started asking where our tux's were and we said we were wearing the tuxedo t-shirts and they said "oh we thought you were joking, you cant have us as dates" so about 8 of us guys (there were 12 guys in our sr class) decided we werent going to go to prom.....we go down to where they were taking pictures and stopped in the high way and laid about 200 yard  (me in the challenger, a kid in my class who had a 69 skylark with a 396, and another kid who had a blown 400 in an 86 chevy truck) we then proceeded to go back to where the the pictures were being taken and everyone except the girls came over there and congratualted us on our "bad ass burnouts", needless to say the girls were quite pissed LOL. I will never forget that day, hopefully i have a few more good memories in the challenger as i teen that i can tell you all about.

When I read you stories I realize that when I was in high school, here in Poland, early 90s (just when the communism went down), the only guy who has his own car was a god  Believe or not - it was a maybe 10 year old little fiat with a might 650 cc (yes, 0.65 liter) engine making a whopping 26HP... having your own car (any car!) was our dream then.

I'm curious how my daughter (in fact now only a 4 months old newborn) is gonna react to the car.

by the time your daughter is a grown up woman, she`ll probably say you`re an environmetal criminal, driving a car that thirsty...

My son took my Cuda to the highschool car show his senior year (the first year they had a show) and also took his dates to Homecoming and Prom in it both senior and junior year. That kid never had a problem getting a date!

WOW some great stories!  Well the best I ever got when I was in school was a ride on the tractor when the car was broken.  Believe me all I got was laughed at.

i got a ride in my dads delorien when they where new and people whent nuts that was cool thanks for shareing alot of great stores i hope i can do that for my kids when they get bigger lol

I remember in about 1976 we had a horrible winter blizzard. The snow was so high I couldn't see out of any windows! Literally! All the door going out of the house except one swung out and we couldn't get them open. I was thinking YES YES YES!!!! SNOW DAY as that was very rare back then. ( not now! 2 flakes and they close the schools here..) But oh no! the one door that swung in was in the garage. So we pulled enough snow into the garage so we could get out. I remember thinking wow this is so cool! I can walk onto the roof the drifts were so high. I had a fun day all planned out in my head. Snow forts, playing with my buddies etc......
But OH NO! I hear the old John Deer snowmobile fire up. Yep you guessed it.....
I got driven to school on the snowmobile! Boy was I pissed! Ruined a good day of fun!
  I definitely did think it was "cool" Mind you 3 hours later they phoned home as they were closing the school. So I had another ride home on the snowmobile, followed by a day of snow shoveling.....

I got laughed at my junior year(1982) for driving a 1974 IH travelall to school. The next day i had the entire top cut off, then everybody wanted a ride.
