non-ac heater box question
« on: October 10, 2010 - 01:18:58 PM »
How do you get the big shutoff air flow flapper out ? Do i have to drill out the rivets ? I am talking about the one behind the D. The Z bend on the rod does not let me take it out, is there a secret ?

gee, the search option is a wonderful thing. I found a post that answer's my question, I guess you have to take the rivets out to get the door out. off to Lowes to see what they have.

A couple of things to help is using aluminum rivets with a backup aluminum washer. It's a little easier to pop them than steel ones that could possible cause the fiberglass to crack. Also, make sure the head of the rivet is in the inside of the air intake to allow for clearance of the door flap.
