Complete Diff chunk from Mancini?
« on: October 01, 2010 - 08:09:07 AM »
Im looking at buying a complete 489 chunk with 3:91 and a posi trac from Mancini.
http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/comcen.html
Has anybody used these, and how do the Posi tracs hook up for strip work and street?
Im seriously considering buying this as the Aussie dollar is real good atm.
Any input greatly appreciated.

If you're running street tires you'll break traction long before you have to worry about breaking the rear end.  I'm running the same setup using a 15 year old posi unit with no problems.

Yeh i will be running street tyres most of the time. I will check out Doctor diff! I was reading about the posi trac and the trutrac centres last night. It seems people prefer the trutrac over all the others? Does anyone have opinions?

Ive spoken to Aussie diffs down the gold coast. Im going with 3;71 gears, tru trac, new bearings and the axles will get new Green bearings as well. All up $1950... including labour. The diff will come out next week to have the new parts installed  :ylsuper: Cant wait to stand on it then... :burnout: Disco Disco  :clapping:

Good that you got a setup from someone other than Mancini.  Years ago Carl (NZ440RT) bought a couple of complete chunks from them and they both howled badly. He sent the back and got a good one from Randy's Ring and Pinion.

Thanx for that info ShelbyDogg. I thought it best to have it done local in case there are problems.  :2thumbs:
